Many Bronson descendents in the US, including my line, trace back to emigrant John Brownson and his brother Richard Brownson. They came to New England in 1635. A paper by John Insley Coddington on the family can be found at the Paul Bronson site.
The Bronson name has common variations Brunson and Brownson. As you might expect, a source like Surname Origin Page would lead you to being a son of BROWN (British). "Brown haired/skinned".
